NOTE: ALL HANGING CREMATION ORBS CAN BE ORDERED AS PAPERWEIGHTS - SELECT 'PAPERWEIGHT' WHEN ADDING TO CART
Spirit Pieces is proud to offer hanging glass orbs with cremation ash in several styles and forms. Each memorial orb has a small amount of cremation ash from your loved on contained within the glass matrix.
Ash is added during the formation of the Spirit Piece orb. The molten glass is mixed with the supplied cremains and melted directly into the glass. Using time honored glass making techniques, the glass is then folded, molded and manipulated along with colored glass called 'frit' into amazingly colorful designs.
Cooled overnight, these memorial orbs are then safely packaged and shipped to your home, to be enjoyed for generations to come.
Hanging Your Memorial Orb
Being solid glass these orbs with cremation ash are quite resilient to being dropped on softer surfaces like wood and carpet. Even still, be it outside in the memorial garden, of your tree or inside via a hook in the ceiling, best be careful the first time you hang your Spirit Piece orb it is placed in a secure spot. We suggest hanging your orb with 20lb test nylon fishing line. You should replace the hanging wire/line every few years.
Hanging Cremation Orbs in Gardens
We get asked often if our memorial glass orbs can be placed in gardens and the answer is yes! Our orbs are solid glass and can survive both harsh winters and brutal summers. Hang them off of trees, shepherd's hooks or simply place on a garden memorial shrine.
Sending Cremation Ash for Your Cremation Orb
Sending in cremation ash to make your memorial Spirit Piece orb is quick, easy and can be done in the comfort of your own home. Once you order, we'll send you a collection kit for the ashes of your loved one. Simply add to the line and then mail back. We in most cases only ask for 1/2 a teaspoon of cremation ash per glass memorial orb.
Are Cremation Orbs Solid or Hollow?
Since our orbs with hooks are meant to be hung outside, they are solid glass to best survive the elements.
How much Cremation Ash do our Hanging Cremation Orbs use?
We only ask for 1/2 a teaspoon of cremation ash for each orb, be it ashes from a pet or person. While this sounds like a very small amount, the ash will spread out 3 dimensionally in the glass orb and look like it takes up more room. Additionally, while cremation ash is compatible with molten and solid glass, too much will cause undue stress in the glass structure and cause breakages.
